the way we teach debate

Most programs treat debate as a game to be taught by breaking it down into its mechanical aspects.

Students learn how to “handle the argument,” engaging with the ideas at play only as a means to accomplish that goal.

Instead, Sparkwise is designed to explore how ideas function within a debate.

Our philosophy is centered around fostering genuine intellectual curiosity, an approach we believe produces not only exemplary thinkers but also the most competitively successful debaters in the process.

Sparkwise is completely free for everyone.

Aside from one-on-one private lessons, anyone can sign up for any group class, course, or webinar in just a few clicks.

Our goal is to make debate more accessible for everyone, not just students from well-resourced programs or regions.

That’s far more important for us than making money - in fact almost any profits we do make go directly to our instructors or are donated to organizations like Outreach Debate.
